I never thought that I would come to love visualization of spaces and moods the way I have. As I’ve grown older maybe it has settled upon me that the spaces we occupy lend a great deal of influence in our daily rituals, values and self-care. Often neglected, the art of paying attention to one’s self and understanding what is truly important is a key piece of creating some calm in the chaos and owning a piece of your day, when there are so many things grabbing our attention. This can be as simple as the coffee cup you reach for each morning to exploring a new ecosystem of garden opportunities when moving to a new climate. Creating space for taking in new experiences though, also includes letting go of previous experiences that are no longer serving you like they used to. This has been extremely important in my life, and while release can be difficult, the expanse of the things that busy our minds and thoughts has limits. Space must be made for new things, and If we keep the old for the sake of keeping it only, those things create a haze that clouds our vision to the present and the possibilities of what is coming, yet unknown.
